The annual fall Hi-Mar 40 Hour Striped Bass Fishing Tournament had fog Friday night, clear sunshine weather on Saturday & Sunday, but big swells on Saturday.

The bigger bass came from trolling spoons and bunkers at the Shrewsbury Rocks. Other bass to make the board were caught in Ambrose and Sandy Hook channels.

 

The winner of the tournament was Tom Novak fishing with Jake Campi. There two fish were 42.0 lbs & 20.4 lbs, a total of 62.4 lbs. There were a total of 28 boats entered.

 

The Lady Angler was Kathie Hughes, Eatontown, on Prime Coat, 26.2 lbs.

The Junior Angler was Tristen Owens, Haskell, on Fish Blind, 21.2 lbs.

 

 

1st. S.T. Bard, Tom Novak, Green Brook, 42.0 & 20.4 = 62.4 lbs, Rocks

2nd. Tyman, Chuck Many, Annandale, 27.6 & 29.0 = 56.6 lbs, Rocks

3rd. Prime Coat, Buddy Hughes, Eatontown, 26.2 & 25.6 = 51.8 lbs, Rocks

4th. Feeling Crabby, Gregg Taffet, Tinton Falls, 35.2 & 12.4 = 47.6 lbs, Rocks

5th. That’s It, Gene Graman, Middletown, 21.2 & 21.6 = 42.8 lbs, Ambrose
