Steve Machalaba was honored with the 2014 Hi-Mar Sportsperson of the Year award at the annual Hi-Mar Awards dinner on March 8, 2015 at the Channel Club in Monmouth Beach. This award was given by former President Tim Behany sighting Steve’s “endless contributions to the Hi-Mar Striper Club as well as his ongoing commitment to the fishing community”.
