2007 Hi-Mar Fall 40 Hour
Tournament
The annual fall Hi-Mar Striped Bass Fishing Tournament had typical windy conditions, but sunny skies, except a front that came through at midnight on Friday with rain and wind.
The winner was Chuck Many,
the defending champ, on Tyman, from Annandale, NJ.
Friday night fish were caught in the Shrewsbury River and at the Outerbridge Crossing.
The remainder of the tournament, fish were caught in all directions.
Due to the bad forecast, 33 boats entered this 40 hour tournament.
As an added attraction, a film crew video taped the tournament on Jerry Beaver’s Teacher’s Pet on Sunday for Treasure-HD cable TV, as well as the weigh-ins.
- The Lady Angler went to Pat Kamienski, Belford, on Kingfisher III, 19.6 lbs.
- The Junior Angler was Marc James Hecht Jr., Howell, on Nauti Boy, 18.9 lbs.
- The Largest fish of the tournament was 27.9 lbs by Mike Merola on Run Off III

HI-MAR 2007 SPRING TOURNAMENT
RESULTS:
The fourth annual Hi-Mar Spring Tournament was held
Saturday, June 2nd, for the benefit of Jason’s Dreams for Kids. 47 boats
were entered in beautiful sunny calm weather. Hi-Mar Tournaments are noted for nasty
weather. Most of the fish were caught down the beach. There was a family picnic
for the Hi-Mar members and the tournament participants following the tournament with
food donated from the restaurants in the area. The real winners were Jason’s
Dreams for Kids as over $3,000 was donated to this great organization, plus the
proceeds from the sale of T-shirts and other donations. All the fish weighed-in
were filleted and donated to the Monmouth/Ocean Food Bank in Neptune.
