HI-MAR 2006 SPRING TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
The third annual Hi-Mar Spring Tournament was held Saturday, June 3, 2006 for
the benefit of Jason’s Dreams for Kids and the Monmouth/Ocean Food Bank. The
weather left something to be desired. It was “pea soup” fog in the morning,
rough seas at the point of the hook, and torrential down-pours throughout the
day, Typical Hi-Mar Tournament weather. Raritan Bay was void of fish, maybe
because of the three inches of rain that fell Friday night through Saturday.
Most of the fish weighed-in were caught down the beach, as far as, Asbury Park.
Tough to get there through fog and rough seas. There were 52 boats entered.
| Place | Boat Name | Winning Captain | Weight | Location |
| 1st | Wet the Line | Rich Swisstack | 36.3 lbs | Shrewsbury Rocks |
| 2nd | Hailey Jane | Paul Eulner | 30.5 lbs. | Highlands Bridge |
| 3rd | No Name | Ken Karinja | 29.4 lbs. | Shrewsbury Rocks |
| 4th | S & S Marine Sea Angel | Steven Yaroli | 28.9 lbs | Highlands Bridge |
| 5th | Out On a Limb | Milieo Santos | 26.7 lbs. | Raritan Bay |
The real winners were Jason’s Dream’s for Kids as a $2,500 donation was made
to this great organization, plus the proceeds from the sale of T-shirts. All the
fish weighed-in, were filleted and donated to the Monmouth / Ocean Food Bank in
Neptune.
