Hi-Mar 2003 Striper Tournament Results:

First Place: CheapShot Fishing Team
Fish
weights: 47 & 37.8 = Total 84.8 lbs.
The 2003 Hi-Mar Striper Tournament is in the record books. Record books because the first place fish total of 84.8 pounds was a record weight for the two fish tournament, and 47lbs was the largest ever caught in the tournament. First place goes to Captain Harry Svenson on the Cheap Shot.
Of the 68 boats entered, only a few fished Friday night as a stiff 20kt north wind blew with driving rain. Saturday it was flat calm until late Sunday morning when the winds again picked up over 20kts. There were a number of weigh-ins with a close battle between 2nd and 5th place. In addition to the places for the tournament we added a Junior and Ladies divisions which made Jesse Mort and Lynn Distel happy with donations from Atlantic Yacht Sales in Middletown.
