One of the goals of the Hi-Mar Spring and Fall striped bass tournaments is to raise funds so that the club can help various local charities.  For instance, Hi-Mar provides several summer fluke and bluefish trips aboard local party boats for youngsters from JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Central Jersey Chapter), Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County, and local high school fishing clubs.  The club has also adopted Camp Happiness in Leonardo, which is a home for blind men.  The club members provide a personal touch for this organization by routinely dropping off fresh fish for the residents of the home.
